Greatstone Castle
The Greatstone Castle in Sidney, Ohio, was built in 1895 by successful industrialist W.H.C. Goode. It is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Greatstone Castle is a bed and breakfast, spa and resort. Tour the castle rooms, enjoy a relaxing massage at the spa or wander around the beautiful gardens.

Van Wert County Apple Festival
The Van Wert County Apple Festival is held each year in the middle of October. The festival features food and activities for everyone in the family, not just the apple eaters. Among the activities available are a fun run, butter churning, exhibits, glass glowing demonstrations and all the apples you could possibly eat.

Canal Days Festival
The city of Delphos hosts the annual Canal Days Festival in the middle of September. The entire family will have fun participating in the variety of activities. The festival features a tractor pull, petting zoo and crafts for the younger crowd, and a car cruise, karaoke, and food booths for the rest of us. Admission is free.

African Safari Wildlife Park
Kids will love seeing the many different animals in the 100 plus acre African Safari Wildlife Park in Port Clinton. Drive through the park safari style, and then go see the animals in the walk-through area. Camel and pony rides are available for children. Lodging is available in nearby motels.

Glacial Grooves
Kelleys Island is another popular vacation destination located in Lake Erie, north of Sandusky. The island is known for the Glacial Grooves, created by the movement of an ancient glacier across the soft limestone native to the area. They are believed to be the longest glacial striations in the world. Enjoy hiking and sightseeing, or spend some time learning the fascinating history of the island. Camp sites are available and the Grooves are accessible year round during daylight hours. Ferries to the island depart from the town of Marblehead.
