Nightlife Vacationing in Las Vegas
Las Vegas, a.k.a. "Sin City," is known for its bright lights, big parties and large-scale shows. From the hip to trendy to the all out rocking, whether you are looking for a night to chill, sing, party until the sunrise or celebrity spot, nightlife vacationing in Las Vegas offers more than a variety of choices to make your party or night out on the town one to remember.
Types of Clubs
Whether you are looking for a night of dancing, a relaxing drink or just want to let yourself go on your vacation, Las Vegas has the clubs to do it.
Depending on your mood or plans, the following types of clubs are available:
Dance: Studio 54 at MGM Grand, PURE at Cesar's, Playboy Moon Nightclub at the Palms, Jet at the Mirage, LAX at the Luxor, Tao at the Ventian, Lavo at the Ventian, Tyrst at the Wynn and Body English at the Hard Rock are all busy and great for celebrity sightings.
See a band: House of Blues at Mandalay Bay, Carnival Court at Harrahs (outdoor bar), Outside downtown Vegas (varies), The Orleans lounge.
Grab a drink: Monte Carlo Brew pub, Coyote Ugly in New York, New York. Tropicana, The Imperial Palace drink stand, Hooters hotel.
Shows: Cirque du Soleil, Impersonators, Variety, Celebrity Comedians, Magic and others.
Considerations
If you plan to exercise the nightclub or dancing option, you will want to get a table reservation. Some offer table service for as low as $100 such as the Audiger bar, but if you are going for the drink or band option, you can usually find a seat without too much trouble.
Without a reservation, plan on showing up early, around 10:30 p.m., and wating for about an hour depending on the crowd that night. Make sure to also bring money for the cover charge and remember that there may be a dress code.
Shows
If you choose to spend your Las Vegas nightlife vacation catching a show, you will have many choices. From the many different options offered by Cirque du Soliel, such as Ka, Mystere, Love and Zumanity, it is up to you to choose the theme you are searching for.
Comedy clubs are located throught Las Vegas, incuding the Comedy Stop at the Tropicana or the Hilton's resident comedian. Or think bigger and see Carrot Top at the Luxor or Rita Rudner at Harrah's. You can also check the hotel calendars before your trip to catch a big name act.
Impersonators are also a popular option. The American Legend concert at the Stratosphere offers the option of including dinner with the show and features celebrity impersonators for acts like Cher, Britney Spears and others.
Pool Parties
One other option for Las Vegas nightlife vacations are pool parties. If you sign up for hotel website email promotions, you will get notices for occasional pool parties. Many of these parties are not for the weak of heart, but if it is something you always thought would be fun, this is your chance.
You don't have to go to a pool party to drink at the pool, though, as most hotels offer bar service at the pool.
Warning
Whether you decide to take a cab, tram, bus, tour package or rental car, you will want to plan ahead and make sure that you can get yourself back to your hotel. Cover charges and drinks will add up, so you may want to put your transportation money somewhere you won't spend it.
