About New York City Helicopter Tours
There is likely no better way to get a view of New York City than by taking a helicopter tour. Most tours are short, but it does not take long to see everything that New York City has to offer when you are doing it by air. Helicopter tours such as these are offered regularly and at a reasonable price.

Sit back in an air-conditioned helicopter and check out Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. It is the best way to get aerial photos of spectacular sites. Each helicopter can hold anywhere from four to six passengers comfortably.

Tour Length

Most of the helicopter tour services offer various lengths for their tours ranging from just under ten minutes to as long as a half an hour. Prices depend on the length of time that you choose for your tour.

Bi-lingual Tours

The tours are narrated and available in several different languages. This is one of the reasons that the tour services ask that reservations are made at least 48 hours in advance.

Because New York City has so many sites to view, the tours are generally focused on specific areas. One tour might focus on the New York skyline while another might take priority in the Harbor and Ground Zero. They still allow you to view other sites, but visit certain areas more specifically.

Prices

Prices range from about $100 to nearly $400 for most helicopter tours. This does not include an added fee for what is called a heliport service which is charged per person. This fee is generally less than $50, depending on the tour service. Tours are available year round but do reserve the right to cancel in inclement weather or any other unforeseen problems.

Security

Security has been greatly enhanced since the 9/11 attacks in New York City. Therefore, those without proper identification will not be served. All tour guests must all agree to an inspection of all bags and purses and must also walk through a metal detector.
