According to the New Orleans Convention and Visitor's Bureau Second Quarter 2009 Hospitality Industry Report, New Orleans is home to 209 hotels with a total of more than 33,000 rooms.
Seasons
New Orleans hotels are often most expensive during peak travel seasons. Visitors may find New Orleans hotel rates at their highest points during Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest, early spring and late fall.
Discounts
Visitors can take advantage of discounted hotel prices during off-season travel times. Many properties offer deep discounts during the city's notoriously hot summer months.
Locations
Most New Orleans hotels are centrally located in such popular tourist areas as the French Quarter, Central Business District, Warehouse District and Garden District. Additional hotel properties are located near the airport, in Jefferson Parish, in Mid-City and in New Orleans East.
