Oprah Winfrey's Harpo Studios, where the Oprah Winfrey Show is taped, is located in a neighborhood known as the West Loop, about one mile west of
Chicago's central business district. The West Loop has very little in the way of lodging. It easier to stay in the Loop to the east, near the shopping districts of State Street and Michigan Avenue, and take transportation such as the #20 Madison Street bus to get to Harpo Studios. The Loop and the southern end of Michigan Avenue have a number of two-star hotel properties to offer.
