There are several 2- and 2 1/2-star hotels within a five-mile radius of Northgate Mall, located just off Interstate 85 in Durham, N.C.
Northgate Mall, the oldest shopping mall in Durham, is located on West Club Boulevard. The sprawling single-level mall has nearly 200 retail stores and restaurants and a movie theater.
Although most of Durham's largest hotels are located near downtown, smaller properties near Northgate provide reasonable rates and good access to the mall and to Duke University and its medical center.
Holiday Inn Express Durham
The Holiday Inn Express Durham is a scant five-minute drive straight down the street from Northgate Mall.
The hotel is located on busy Guess Road, which is packed with restaurants and other services. It offers complimentary breakfast and wireless Internet access. It also has a pool, a business center and accepts pets with a fee.

Duke Tower All-Condominium Hotel
Duke Tower All-Condominium Hotel is part of the refurbished 19th century Pearl Cotton Mills and is located near some of Durham's most atmospheric old neighborhoods.
In addition to being five minutes away from Northgate Mall, Duke Tower is just a few blocks from Duke University's West Campus. Duke Tower has a pool and cafe and all condos sport fully equipped kitchens. Duke Tower accepts pets with a fee and offers complimentary high-speed Internet.

America's Best Value Carolina Duke Inn is located on Guess Road, just down the street from Northgate Mall.
