The Depot skating rink in
Minneapolis, Minnesota is an attraction that is frequented by visitors and locals alike. In its peak year of 1920, the Depot was home to almost thirty train departures a day for the Milwaukee Road Line. Although no trains have left the Depot since 1971, the building and the attached facilities remain a historic landmark. The ice rink is located in an old train shed which is enclosed in glass, offering a picturesque view of downtown Minneapolis. Many of the hotels in downtown Minneapolis, including the two that are part of the old train depot are 4-star luxury hotels that are very expensive and may be out of the budget for some travelers. The Days Hotel Minneapolis is located a little over two miles from the Depot skating rink. This hotel will be a better choice for couples and singles that are traveling without children because it is located adjacent to the University of Minnesota campus.
