Auburn University is located in Auburn, Alabama, roughly 50 miles northeast of Montgomery. Montgomery claims the Auburn Tigers as their own, and has Mexican restaurants within 55 miles of the campus. These restaurants serve up authentic Mexican dishes as well as items for vegetarians. The bars are always open and these eateries are good spots to visit on the way to or from the big game.
La Bamba
La Bamba Mexican restaurant is located in Montgomery near Auburn. This restaurant serves authentic Mexican cuisine. Some popular items on the menu are the chimichangas, quesadillas, steaks, seafood, burritos, kabobs, tacos and fajitas. This restaurant also has a kid's menu and a bar with red wine, white wine, margaritas, daiquiris and beer. Large parties can be accommodated in the banquet and party rooms, and reservations are welcome. La Bamba is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner and has daily specials as well as catering. Patrons can also print coupons online, and take-out orders are accepted.

El Rey Burrito Lounge is a Mexican restaurant serving foods prepared by hand with fresh ingredients from local growers. All beef served is natural, chickens are free-range, seafood is local and organic items are used when available. Some items El Rey serves are burritos, fajitas, quesadillas, enchiladas and grilled tacos. Vegetarian dishes are also offered. Olive oil is used in the chips that are served, and the menu has grilled dishes to choose from. Appetizers, salads, soups, rice and beans are some items that help round out the menu at this spot. This restaurant has a bar that serves cocktails, beers, wine and liquor, and El Rey is open Monday through Saturday for dinner only.

Ixtapa Bar & Grill is a Mexican restaurant serving authentic food. The menu has appetizers, soups, salads, chicken dishes, vegetarian dishes, fajitas, Mexican dishes and specialty dishes. Some of the Mexican dishes are the burrito supreme, the enchilada dinner and the beef burrito with a beef poblano pepper. Two of the specialty dishes are the t-bone steak and the fajita burrito. This restaurant has more than 29 lunch specials and happy hour Monday through Thursday and Saturday. The dining room is open Monday through Saturday for lunch and dinner.
