Nashville is an important part of the history of Tennessee; it played a prominent role in the Civil War. It also has a rich music legacy; it helped set the backdrop for the creation of country, rock and jazz music. The city's rich culture makes it a popular destination for tourists around the world.
Professional Sports

The NHL's Nashville Predators play home games at the 17,113-seat Sommet Center. Nashville also hosts games for the NFL's Tennessee Titans at the 68,798-seat LP Field.

Festivals

Nashville hosts the Country Music Association Awards each fall to honor the city's musical roots. The city also hosts an international film festival each spring that began in 1969.

Museums

The Tennessee State Museum highlights the growth of Nashville since the 1779. The Grand Ole Opry Museum and the Country Music Hall of Fame show Nashville's influence on country music.

Entertainment Venues

Nashville's 2,362-seat Ryman Auditorium hosts country music shows and theatrical productions throughout the year. The city also hosts dramas, musicals and comedies at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center.

Parks

The major park in Nashville is Bicentennial State Park in the downtown district. Nashville is home to smaller parks like Riverfront, Towne and Sevier with ample green space.
