Mohegan Sun Hotel Review

Mohegan Sun
Mohegan Sun
Featuring 36 floors of spacious rooms set behind a modernly reflective exterior design, Mohegan Sun is one of Connecticut's finest lodging destinations. Directly connected to the large casino below, the hotel offers luxury, gambling, shopping, dining, and a full arena to watch concerts, WNBA basketball games and more. An 18-hole golf course is located a short trip away and hotel guests can sign up for special golf and stay package with the casino.
Wows and Woes

Wows: Nearly every room shows the spectacular view of the New England area, with the casino being surrounded by forest and the Thames River. As for its interior, the hotel is spacious, including large bathrooms and plenty of space to maneuver around with multiple guests. The hotel lobby is a great place to relax while waiting to check or valet. It features a fountain, classic Native American artifacts and comfortable seating.

Woes: The price is steep considering extra costs, such as dining and gambling. Additionally, the valet parking area is hard to find, and guests to need follow signs closely.

Insider Tips

Ask for a river view room. These rooms provide the best view, right over the Thames River. During Fourth of July weekend, you can enjoy a fireworks show from the nearby Norwich Harbor. Ask for the Meal Package. It provides guests with the room, plus meal certificates and free gambling money.

Author's Most Memorable Moment

Viewing shows at the arena is a blast and there are constantly top-notch events happening there. Once the show is over, the best part is heading to your hotel room, a two-minute walk, and just plopping onto one of the relaxing beds.

Bottom Line

Although expensive, the luxurious hotel is top-notch and there will be no regrets on the price. The casino has everything that guests need and more.
