How to Get Married in Gatlinburg, Tennessee Wedding Chapels

Gatlinburg, Tennessee, is a romantic destination that attracts couples throughout the year. Capitalizing on its setting high in the mountains, Gatlinburg is home to many wedding chapels that take much of the planning and headaches out of the wedding process. Compared to planning a wedding on your own, getting married in a Gatlinburg wedding chapel is quick, easy and convenient.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You'll Need:
  • At least two witnesses Sevier County, Tennessee, wedding license
  • At least two witnesses
  • Sevier County, Tennessee, wedding license
Step 1

Choose a chapel. Gatlinburg boasts dozens of quaint, intimate and even elaborate wedding chapels that can meet any number of needs. Either drive through town (don't forget the side streets) and select a wedding chapel of your choice or search the Internet for reviews of Gatlinburg chapels (see Resources) to find one that meets your needs.

Step 2

Book a reservation at the chapel. If you have Internet access and have selected a wedding chapel with a web presence, visit the chapel's website and book a reservation for your wedding. If you do not have Internet access, call the chapel to book a date and time that meets your needs. Most chapels can perform a ceremony on short notice and perform several weddings daily.

Step 3

Select the options you would like to have at your wedding. Gatlinburg wedding chapels cater to visiting tourists and deliver many of the services you would otherwise have to secure for yourself. Depending on the chapel you select, you will be asked to choose from services such as videography, photography, champaign, balloons, flowers and a number of other options specific to the chapel you choose.

Step 4

Obtain a wedding license in Sevier County, Tennessee, from the Sevier County clerk. In some cases, you might need to either complete a marriage-readiness class or wait at least three days between obtaining the license and performing the ceremony.

Step 5

Invite guests. The number of guests you can invite is entirely your choice, but the chapel may have some limitation on the maximum number of guests it can safely accommodate. Consult your chapel for specific information on the maximum number of guests, but you will likely need at least two guests to serve as witnesses to your wedding.

Step 6

Show up. The chapel will take care of all wedding-related aspects, so your responsibility is limited to showing up, completing your ceremony, resolving any outstanding debts and living happily ever after.
