Cleveland-Hopkins International Airport celebrated 80 years of business in 2005. The airport, which started as Cleveland Municipal Airport, now serves nearly 12 million passengers a year, according to its website. It was the first municipally owned airport in the
United States when it was established in 1925, and it is now the largest airport in the northeast Ohio region. For travelers flying through it who want some pampering, several luxury hotels are nearby.
