Los Angeles Airport Guide
The
Los Angeles Airport, commonly referred to by its call letters LAX, is the busiest airport in California and the sixth busiest in the world. This high level of traffic supports domestic and international flights worldwide with nine terminals that are arranged in a U-shape pattern. The Los Angeles airport is host to several airline hubs and serves as the starting point for many long-haul international flights.
Location
The Los Angeles Airport is located about 15 miles southwest of the city of Los Angeles, California and can be reached from the I-105 Freeway on Sepulveda Boulevard or from the I-104 Freeway on Century Boulevard.
Terminal Movement
A convenient shuttle bus is available to ease movement between terminals. When you change terminals, you will have to pass through security--even if you were cleared in your previous terminal.
Transportation
Many modes of transportation from the Los Angeles Airport are available including a shuttle service called FlyAway, buses, Metro Rail connection, taxis and private shuttles.
Accommodations
Some hotels near the Los Angeles Airport include the Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Embassy Suites, Comfort Inn and Suites and Best Western. Most hotels have a free shuttle service from the airport that can be requested at the airport through a phone bank.
Shopping
Hundreds of shops and restaurants are distributed throughout all nine terminals in the Los Angeles Airport. Standard American food and some specialty international fare are available.
Entertainment and Activities
Fee-based Wi-Fi Internet connections and computer kiosks are available as well as lounges and sports bars. A rotating art exhibit is located in terminal one.
