List of Lake Tahoe Ski Resorts

Lake Tahoe, nestled just southwest of Reno on the border between California and Nevada, has many ski resorts scattered in the mountains around the lake. The biggest and best Lake Tahoe ski resorts have more than 1,000 acres each of downhill skiing terrain, in addition to ski and snowboard rentals, lodges and amenities.

Even though it is one of the smallest of the Lake Tahoe ski resorts, Mt. Rose appeals to many expert skiers with its "Chutes" area, opened in 2004 with very advanced terrain descending the faces between the peaks. Two high-speed lifts seating six people per bench service the mountain alongside six smaller chairlifts.
