Lincoln City, Oregon is located along the Pacific Coast, two hours southwest of Portland. The city's history is tied to the taming of the West with the 1887 Dawes Severalty Act, which broke apart Native American reservations for white settlers. Lincoln City has maintained its small-town feel with landmarks and historic buildings that preserve the past. Visitors find art, culture and history packed into Lincoln City as they hit local streets.
North Lincoln County Historical Museum
The North Lincoln County Historical Museum is a two-story memorial to Lincoln City's rich history. The lower level of the museum focuses on Lincoln City history up to the 20th century, with prehistoric and Native American artifacts on display. The upper level details the incorporation of multiple towns and villages into Lincoln City between 1929 and 1965. The museum offers a family rate as well as individual rates that are less than admission for a first-run movie.

Theatre West
Theatre West is a community theater group established in 1975 to entertain the residents of Lincoln City. The group offers five productions per year ranging from Tony Award-winning dramas to musical comedies, one-act shows and Westerns. Theatre West is operated entirely by area residents with dozens of volunteers working behind the scenes to create high-quality theater. Visitors to Lincoln City can order tickets Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights to see Theatre West in action.

Chinook Winds Casino Resort
The Chinook Winds Casino resort contains 1,100 slot machines with buy-ins ranging from a penny to $100. Visitors interested in keno can play multiple versions of the game around the clock in the second level of Chinook Winds. Chinook Winds also hosts live music and comedians each weekend to attract visitors throughout the region. The resort's 18-hole golf course allows gamblers to get outside after long hours of poker, blackjack and roulette.

The Bijou Theatre
Lincoln City visitors can check out a slice of the city's history as well as a first-run movie at the Bijou Theatre. The movie theater opened in 1937 and the city has spent decades preserving the structure in its original condition. The Bijou Theatre claims that its popcorn is the best in Oregon thanks to a mixture of curry powder, garlic salt and Parmesan cheese. Movie lovers can check out special events at the Bijou including silent film festivals, student presentations and foreign films.
