The Vegas Strip
Las Vegas, Nevada is an amazing vacation spot. Along with the casinos there are fun attractions like the Bellagio Fountains, the Tiger exhibit at the Mirage, and the roller coaster at the Stratosphere. Las Vegas is also home to fabulous shopping, trendy nightclubs and spectacular shows. The big question is: Where do you want to start?
Wows and Woes
Wows
It is really easy to do a trip on a smaller budget.
There is always something going on. All you have to do is explore.
Woes
We stayed for five days, which was two days too long.
Cover charges and drinks can be steep, especially if you're male.
Insider Tips
Unless you have a particular hotel in mind, pick one towards the middle of the strip. Make sure to do your homework and shop for deals and tips and coupons. If you are hitting the clubs, make sure you plan ahead. You can get on VIP lists and get passes more easily if you request them early. The pool is nice, but be sure to see the sights too.
Author's Most Memorable Moment
There is something liberating about walking down the street with a margarita in each hand --- it's totally legal and that made my day. It was great to spend a day just enjoying the casinos and attractions with no real game plan.
Bottom Line
Your visit can be a jam packed party, or you can take it at a slower speed. It is your choice.
