Things to Do in Jackson Hole, WY Over the Summer
Jackson Hole, Wyoming is one of the most spectacular places to visit in the American west. From the Grand Tetons, rising from the desert floor to heights of over 13,000 feet, to almost uncountable trout fishing rivers and streams, Jackson Hole has become a top destination for anyone looking for adventure -- or leisure. The summer weather is nearly perfect, with bright blue sky and dry comfortable temperatures both day and night.
Jackson Hole is an unforgettable place for a vacation, so whether you are a couple or a family, there are activities for all.
A Great Destination!
Activities for all ages and interests are available in Jackson Hole and the immediate surrounding area in the summer months. These include golf, rock climbing, horseback riding, paragliding, scenic rides on the Bridger gondola and chairlift rides, float or fly fishing trips down the Snake River, wildlife tours, a fast and fun Alpine slide, twice-weekly rodeos, dude ranch or wagon train adventures, scenic flights, biking, hiking, the Grand Teton Music Festival, Teton County Fair (mid-July), or visiting nearby Jenny Lake to enjoy kayaking or boating. To the west of Jackson Hole lies the Grand Teton National Park, and about 60 miles north you will find Yellowstone National Park.
Looking for less adventurous "sports"? Jackson Hole offers great boutique shopping in its downtown area. Be sure and check out Beaver Creek Hat and Leather Company for your perfect 10-gallon cowboy hat. The town's square is a lovely park and each entrance has an arbor-like gate made of elk antlers and is quite impressive to a child of any age.
Jackson Hole has some great restaurants and some hot nightspots. Some of the restaurants include the popular Snake River Grill, Bubba's BBQ, Blue Lion, Horse Creek Station and the Cadillac Grille. For fun nightlife, hit the Mangy Moose, Stagecoach Bar or the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar.
