New York is a quiet village just an hour from New York City (by train), where restaurants and boutiques are plentiful. Northport is home to the Great Cow Harbor 10k Run held the last Saturday of September each year. Following the race, the town hosts a celebration with parades, carnival rides and food. Northport also puts on Summerfest Concerts every Thursday evening in August. This quaint town also is home to several Italian restaurants.
Robke's Country Inn Restaurant and Catering
Robke's Restaurant was previously a German bar and grill serving burgers and steak. But in 1978 Chef Louis Selvaggio took over as the new owner, and although he kept the original name he added a taste of Italy to the main menu. The restaurant serves fine pasta and quality meats.

Maroni Cuisine
Maroni Cuisine's specialty is its Grandma Maroni's meatballs, an all-original 100-year-old recipe created by the owner's grandmother. Owner Michael Maroni even faced off against celebrity chef Bobby Flay in a televised cooking showdown where he prepared the restaurant's famous meatballs on live TV; in fact, he won. Maroni's cuisine includes not only pasta dishes but also meat and seafood. Since it gained further notoriety after its TV victory with the cooking showdown, it's quite busy; as such, you should consider making reservations at least one week in advance for a weekend night.

La Villini Family Style Italian Restaurant
La Villini offers a wide range of party packages that includes different regional Italian cuisines. It is often host to lots of functions such as weddings, birthdays and even funerals. The restaurant is open every Friday for lunch and dinner, and every Tuesday through Sunday it is open only for dinner. Some of La Villini's house favorites include talapia mareciata, lobster tails oreganato and shrimp mondello.
