Iroquois Hotel in NYC Reviews

The Iroquois is a luxury boutique hotel located on West 44th Street, between 5th and 6th avenues in Manhattan. The establishment boasts 114 rooms with sleek, modern amenities, including a 32-inch flat screen television, DVD player, an iPod dock, as well as wireless high-speed Internet. The floor-to-ceiling marble bathrooms are beautiful and complete with all brand name toiletries necessary for a comfortable stay. The New York Times is also daily delivered to your room, along with a complementary overnight shoe shine.
Wows and Woes

Wows
Triomphe, one of New York's most celebrated French restaurants, is located within the hotel, and the food is as delectable as the Michelin critics say. The Iroquois' location is also quite central, and is only a short distance from Times Square, Rockefeller Center and Fifth Avenue shopping.

Woes
On one trip, there was initial confusion over a reservation, and it took two front desk agents 15 minutes to clarify the issue. An upscale hotel should demonstrate more efficiency.

Insider Tips

At first glance, this hotel seems ideal for the business traveler and couples. However, the Iroquois has a variety of amenities for families traveling with children, including in-room Nintendo, lending libraries, board games, DVDs, cribs, bed rails and strollers.

Author's Most Memorable Moment

On a business trip, I ran between meetings, and barely had time for leisure. On my last day I spent hours decompressing at the hotel's Finnish spa. It was fabulous and just what I needed.

Bottom Line

If you want to spend money on luxury, the hotel's features, amenities, and guest services are unbeatable. It is an urban oasis located in the middle of the Manhattan bustle.
