The Knights Inn Valdosta is one of three Knights Inns in Valdosta. This particular motel is in an old Comfort Inn. All rooms have data ports, HBO, STARZ, ESPN and other cable channels. If you want a microwave or refrigerator, it will cost you $5 on top of your room rate. Cribs are free and continental breakfast is available on the weekends. Shopping, restaurants and the convention center are close.
Wows and Woes
Wows: The staff was very friendly. The well-maintained pool is clean. The hotel belongs to the Wyndham group and the "Trip Rewards" program is great.
Woes: The small pillows are not comfortable. The rooms have carpet, ceiling and wall stains.
Insider Tips
Make sure to look at your room before you check-in. Austin's Cattle Company Steakhouse and Huddle House are next door. The steaks are delicious at the steakhouse. If you want a lot of food for breakfast, choose the Big House Platter at Huddle House. The steakhouse is open for lunch and dinner, and the Huddle House is open 24 hours.
Author's Most Memorable Moment
After a long trip from South Carolina, I was tired and hungry. I was disappointed that my room did not even have a coffee maker. Being hungry, I went next door to the Angus Steakhouse. The waitress at the restaurant was so friendly and accommodating that it made me feel relaxed and refreshed. She even gave me a large cup of water, a tea bag, sugar and creamer to take with me.
Bottom Line
This is a motel for people who are on a budget. If you are looking for very comfortable rooms, go to another motel.
