The Holiday Inn Express & Suites in New Tampa isn't far from anywhere you want to go.
The Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites is in an area called New Tampa, in Tampa, Fla. It is about 5 minutes away from Interstate 75, and not far from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, the Ford Amphitheatre, Busch Gardens and Adventure Island; downtown Tampa is about a 30-minute drive. Practically next door is a movie theater, and nearby is a slew of restaurants and a new outdoor shopping mall. Head a little farther north and you'll come to the Pasco County line.
Wows and Woes
Wows:
The hotel is relatively new, and it's still in nice shape. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly.
Woes:
There is a lot of construction on the main drag, Bruce B. Downs Boulevard, which causes some traffic headaches.
Insider Tips
Pets are allowed, but only in a limited number of rooms; be sure to specify that you will be bringing your animal with you when you make the reservation so you make sure to get a pet-friendly room. Be prepared to pay the nonrefundable $50 fee.
Author's Most Memorable Moment
After spending a day at Busch Gardens with my friends, we wanted a relaxing evening. We freshened up at the room and walked to a nearby Thai restaurant for a delicious dinner and then walked to the movie theater. It was great not to have fight for a parking space at the theater!
Bottom Line
The hotel is a clean, comfortable place to stay for a reasonable price. Its location is central for leisure and business travelers alike.
