North Carolina
beaches are located in the eastern part of the state. Areas include the Outer Banks, The Crystal Coast, New Hanover beaches and Brunswick beaches.
Types
North Carolina beaches offer something for everyone including nature lovers, history buffs, windsurfers, golfers and fishermen. The Outer Banks are more remote than the other beaches while the Crystal Coast offers family-friendly beaches.
Lodging
beach goers have a variety of choices when they visit the North Carolina coast. Options include a chain or independently-owned hotels, bed and breakfast inns, or a vacation rental.
Transportation
People can get to most North Carolina beaches by car or bus. The closest airport is Wilmington International Airport which is serviced by US Airways and Delta airlines. The Outer Banks are connected by ferries and bridges.
Attractions
Most beach vacations include shopping, eating and a little sun worship. On the North Carolina coast visitors can visit museums, three different aquariums, historic sites and even tour a movie studio.
Temperature
North Carolina residents enjoy a moderate climate with mild winters. North Carolina beaches are a year-round destination. However people should take some caution late August through early November as it is the height of hurricane season.
