Lansing and East Lansing Michigan, two interconnected towns, are near the massive Michigan State University, so there are many ethnic restaurants. Indian cuisine fits the bill for many students; they are usually inexpensive and budget-friendly, and they have many vegetarian choices.
Paddy Rawal's Mumbai

Paddy Rawal's Mumbai focuses on fresh, healthy food, using olive oil, not ghee (clarified butter), to cook the food; and very little oil is used at all. In addition to traditional tandoori, korma, biryani and vindaloo preparations, there are a few Indian/Chinese fusion dishes, using soy and Schezuan sauces.

Sindhu Indian Cuisine

Sindhu Indian Cuisine has a great deal; for a little more than the price of an entree, diners get vegetable curry, dal, sambar, raita, rice, papadam and dessert--plus the entree. The restaurant offers all dishes mild, medium or spicy. If diners are a real curry fan, the spicy will not be too hot to handle. This low-key restaurant does not have a website.
