The Hotel Giraffe Lobby
The Hotel Giraffe Lobby
The Hotel Giraffe, located in the heart of New York City in Manhattan's famous Park Avenue neighborhood between 26th and 27th Streets. This boutique hotel features beautiful classic touches with a modern flair. Although the hotel is pricey, if you are looking for a quiet place to work or simply want to be king or queen for a day, the Hotel Giraffe will place you in the lap of luxury.
Wows and Woes

The rooms are the perfect mix of modern and classic decor. Although some modern hotels can feel cold and sterile, the rooms in the Hotel Giraffe are both streamlined and very comfortable. The staff at the hotel are very polite.

The hotel is one of the more expensive hotels in Manhattan and although it is a beautiful hotel, if you don't want to break the bank, you may want to stay at a more reasonably priced option. The water pressure in the bathrooms leaves a little to be desired.

Insider Tips

The Hotel Giraffe is not in walking distance to most tourist attractions, like Times Square, Central Park, Rockefeller Center and Carnegie Hall. If you are looking to go to these locations, you can drive or take a cab The hotel is within walking distance to Madison Square Park, Union Square, the East Village, Greenwich Village and Soho, which are beautiful areas of the city.

Author's Most Memorable Moment

The Hotel Giraffe features an impressive free breakfast spread. I was not expecting much when I went downstairs the first morning, as most hotels' continental breakfasts only include a few items. The Hotel Giraffe, however, was not stingy at all with the food and breakfast goodies that included danishes, bagels and cream cheese, fruit, cereal, tea, juices and coffee.

Bottom Line

The Hotel Giraffe is a beautiful and comfortable hotel, although it is not near many tourist areas that a first-time visitor to New York would be interested in seeing.
