If you have ever dreamed of visiting Hawaii within a Victorian setting, then the Moana Hotel is exactly what you are looking for. Combining Hawaii's traditions with beachfront relaxation, the Moana Hotel has captured the sublime.
History
Known as the First Lady of Waikiki, the Moana Hotel set the standard for Hawaiian hotels in 1901. Original owner Walter Chamberlain Peacock started the hotel with only 75 rooms in the Beaux-Arts style. A welcome stay for many members of the armed services during World War II, the hotel was sold to Sheraton in 1959. As of 2009, Westin was the current owner.
Features
Featuring two restaurants, a swimming pool, beach bar, historical tours and more than 15,000 square feet of functional space, the Moana Hotel is the pride of Waikiki. In 2007, the lobby was remodeled with hardwood floors, new furniture and new lighting. The Moana Hotel boasts Waikiki's only beach-side spa, with 14 rooms.
Accommodations
The Moana Hotel contains 793 guest rooms, including 46 suites. Each room comes with a flat-panel television and Westin's signature Heavenly Bed.
Meetings and Weddings
As a certified Elite Meetings hotel, the Moana Hotel features three indoor meeting rooms and multiple outdoor settings for special meeting requests, including the Diamond Lawn. The turn-of-the-century ballroom is perfect for the reception after a beautiful beach-side wedding, and on-site wedding planners are on staff.
Awards
The Moana Hotel has received multiple awards, including the President's Historic Preservation Award, the National Preservation Honor Award, and the Hawaiian Renaissance Award.
