Busch Gardens in Williamsburgm Virigina opened in 1975. The park still retains the original theme. Originally, it was part of three sister parks, one of which closed soon after it opened. In the 30-plus years since opening Busch Gardens has grown into one of the main attractions surrounding Williamsburg.
Names
Busch Gardens in Williamsburg switched names three times in its history. It started as Busch Gardens: The Old Country, later moving on to Busch Gardens: Williamsburg and recently setting on Busch Gardens: Europe.
Origins
Busch Gardens: Europe and its sister park Busch Gardens: Africa in Florida were developed by Busch Entertainment Corporation.
Free Beer
With a corporation heading the parks a beer brand, free samples of beer were given out. Recently, the practice has ended. Beer is still sold.
The Layout
Split into six sections, the park features a different European country for each section.
The Rides
The European themed rides include the Griffon, Curse of DarKastle, Da Vinci's Cradle and Lock Ness Monster.
Animals
The Budweiser Clydesdales are housed in Busch Gardens along with wolves, eagles and lorikeets.
Lines
The lines become longer as the day goes on, peaking in the afternoon. Attend major attractions early or late in the evening.
