Hawaii Vacation Activities

The Hawaiian islands, located in the Pacific Ocean, are some of the most popular vacation spots on the entire planet. Every year millions of tourists visit Hawaii to engage in some relaxation and recreation island-style. There is no shortage of things to do and see while vacationing in Hawaii. From swimming and enjoying the beach to touring American historical landmarks like Pearl Harbor, Hawaii has something to offer for anyone on vacation.
Pearl Harbor Tours

The island of Oahu is home to the legendary Pearl Harbor World War II landmark. The harbor consists of a museum, the National Cemetery of the Pacific, the USS Missouri and the USS Arizona Memorial. There are day trip tours of Pearl Harbor that leave from the islands of Kauai, Hawaii (the main island) and Maui. There is a vast array of different tour types to fit into a visitor's jam-packed schedules and itineraries.

Scuba Diving

Hawaii is full of excellent scuba diving options. Because the waters of Hawaii are comfortable and warm all year-round, Hawaii is one of the most popular places for scuba diving on the planet. From scuba diving around offshore formations of lava, shipwrecks and grottoes, swimming around the exquisite and untarnished waters of the Garden Island of Kauai, Hawaii is a scuba diver's paradise. The island Molokai's south side is particularly well known for exciting diving.

Whale Watching

Whale watching is another very popular Hawaii vacation activity. It can be done on most of the Hawaiian islands but is particularly prevalent in the Auau Channel off Maui's western coast. Whale watching in the Auau Channel is done from the shoreline so as to leave the humpback whales in peace. Be sure to check out the whale watching from McGregor Point, which looks onto Maalaea Bay. This is a fantastic vantage point for spotting humpback whales and, if you are particularly lucky, you might even spot calves as well.

Helicopter Tours

Hawaii is one of the most naturally beautiful sites on the planet, which is why many tourists choose to see it from an aerial viewpoint. There are many helicopter tours that can show visitors magnificent sights of both dormant and erupting volcanoes, valleys, waterfalls, tropical rainforests, sea cliffs and much, much more. Helicopter tours are a great, convenient way to get extensive tours of all the natural scenery and glory that Hawaii has to offer.
