Harriman is a village in the town of Monroe, which is located in the southeastern corner of
New York State in Orange County. Harriman is located approximately one hour by car from New York City. The village is located near several regional lakes, including Round Lake and Walton Lake. Visitors to Harriman have a variety of restaurants to chose from during their stay.

Taste of India serves Harriman residents and visitors to the area fine selections of authentic Northern Indian Cuisine. Appetizers include vegetable and lamb samosa and several pakora selections. Several soup and salad options are offered. Tandoori--or clay-oven cooked specialties include tandoori chicken, lamb chops, salmon kebab and shrip tikka. Among the array of vegetarian offerings are the navratna korma, which features nine different vegetables and the vegetable jalfrezi. Several lamb dishes are served, in addition to Indo-Chinese noodle dishes, rice specialties and seafood dishes. A selection of Indian breads is offered. Taste of India happily caters family or corporate events.

Big Mike's Pizza and Pasta
Big Mike's offers a huge selection of subs, pizzas and pasta. Known locally for serving up slices with any topping you want, Big Mike's also takes reservations and can make your order for takeout. Steak subs, grilled and fried chicken subs and a range of cold cut subs are served. Big Mike's also serves a range of pasta dishes, from spaghetti and to pasta with veal or chicken. All the standard pizza toppings, but those looking for something out of the ordinary should try the calamari pizza.

New China Restaurant
New China Restaurant offers the Harriman area a wide selection of Chinese dishes. Both on-site dining and takeout are available. Side dishes include egg rolls, crab rangoon, your choice of soup and chicken or beef teriyaki. Entrees offered include fried rice, chow fun noodles, lo mein and several vegetable dishes. Chow mein and chop suey also are served, as well as ginger fried beef and General Tso's chicken. Visitors can chose from a selection of beer and wine, but those in a daring mood should try the scorpion bowl.
