Greenlinks
resort is a lovely golf resort on Florida's west (Gulf) coast. Located about twenty minutes from Naples' downtown, Greenlinks has two four star golf courses. It consists of one, two and three bedroom condominiums, tennis courts, a pool, conference center, fitness center and a restaurant. The grounds are attractive, with lots of native plants and trees. Greenlinks is a pretty place to stay while exploring the gorgeous west coast of Florida. Not only do you have easy access to Naples, you are also not too far from San Marco Island.
Features
Greenlinks' condominiums include full, but not especially spacious kitchens. They are great for breakfasts and lunches, but not so great for cooking full dinners. The living areas are spacious enough and everything is clean and well-decorated. The three bedroom condos have two bathrooms which make them great for large families. All the condos also have washers and dryers, which are very handy for families with kids and people staying for more than a week. Condos have cable on two (or more) televisions and HBO as well. They also all have private balconies or screened lanais. And even though you have all the perks of a condo, you can still get housekeeping for a nominal fee.
Pros and Cons
Greenlinks is 20 minutes from the shops, restaurants and beaches of Old Naples. If you are looking to spend a lot of time shopping and swimming in the Gulf, Greenlinks may not be the resort for you. If your main goals are to play golf, swim in a great pool and play some tennis, Greenlinks is a great choice. There is a restaurant at Greenlinks which has perfectly nice food, but it's not where you'd want to eat every night.
The golf courses have been rated 4 star by Golf Digest, so of course they are a definite advantage. The resort also has its on pro shop.
Bottom Line
Naples has great entertainment and restaurants and absolutely gorgeous beaches, but Greenlinks' distance from them can be a strain. But the resort is very pretty, the staff is great and it's probably the best choice for avid golfers. So it really depends on your interests. Also, rates can be more affordable than they are at other resorts that are closer to either downtown Naples or downtown San Marco Island. So if you are looking for more bang for your buck, Greenlinks is a good option. And because of the full kitchens, you can save a lot of money by cooking most of your meals at your condo.
It really depends what your priorities are. If golf is the reason you're going to Florida, then Greenlinks is a great choice. If you want to enjoy Naples without spending too much money, Greenlinks is also a great choice. But if you want to be able to walk to the beach or restaurants, there are better choices. And if no one in your party is a golfer, you can probably find another resort.
