Great Wolf Lodge is part of a chain of hotels with gigantic indoor waterparks. The one in Traverse City, Michigan goes a step further, with a seasonal outdoor waterpark, plus its own miniature golf course. The kid-friendly rooms include suites with cabins tricked out with bunk beds and a wolf theme.
Wows and Woes
Great Wolf is a paradise for kids who love water, with a huge water fort, sprays, fountains and slides. There are kiddie pools for smaller folks.
This place gets noisy and crowded. The walls of the rooms are thin.
Insider Tips
Anyone in the waterpark area is fair game. If your kids don't want to get sprayed by others, they must walk very carefully.
Author's Most Memorable Moment
Our first time here was a revelation. It was freezing outside, and we watched the snow fall as we splashed around in our bathing suits. We had no need for rash guards or sunscreen!
Bottom Line
Rooms can be pricey, but you are getting "free" admission to a waterpark.
