Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, Texas
Great Wolf Lodge, with 12 locations nationally, has created a fun family adventure for children and adults of all ages. The Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, Texas, is located between downtown
Dallas and downtown Fort Worth, with a 30-minute commute from either city. With less than a five-hour drive from
Houston;
San Antonio; Oklahoma City;
Austin, Texas; and Shreveport, Louisiana, the Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine is an easy drive for vacationers. It features an indoor water park plus many other amenities.
Features
The main attraction at the Great Wolf Lodge is the massive indoor water park with high-speed slides, family raft rides, a lazy river, pools and hot tubs. There is a toddler area to meet the needs of the youngest swimmers and more intense rides for the teens and adults visiting the water park. But the indoor water park isn't the only thing to do while staying at the Great Wolf Lodge. The hotel also has a teen center, arcade, spa (one for adults and one for the kids), fitness center and nightly bedtime stories in the lobby. Guests can even rent board games to play in the lobby or take back to their rooms, making it a total family experience.
Pros and Cons
Because the cost of the hotel includes admission to the water park, the cost does add up. It's easier to handle if you keep in mind that you'll have access to a water park, not just during normal daytime hours but from very early in the morning until very late at night. For an entire family to travel, it can be pricey. Try going during the middle of the week or on the off season if possible. The restaurants inside the hotel are also pricey, like many other hotels. However, the rooms do have mini-fridges and microwaves, so it is possible to bring some of your own food to help with the costs. When you arrive, you're given a wrist band that works as a key to your room and the water park and also as a charge card for your hotel room account. This makes it easy to move around the hotel or buy snacks at the pool without having to worry about bringing a wallet and worrying about it getting lost or stolen.
Bottom Line
The Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, Texas, makes a point to be very detailed about the total experience. Everything from the door knobs to the carefully crafted chairs go along with the theme of the resort. It may be pricey, but many visitors will tell you that it is worth every penny. The resort isn't just selling a hotel room; it is also selling a full-time experience. Great Wolf Lodge makes a point to not disappoint its guests. If you're looking for a total family experience and something to make everyone happy, the Great Wolf Lodge is something to look into.
