Red Lion Grog House

Located in the historic Fountain Square community of Indianapolis, the Red Lion Grog House has served English-style cuisine since October 2009. The Red Lion Grog House opens Monday through Saturday at 11 a.m. and Sunday at 12 p.m.; it closes at 9 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday and 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

A wide selection of soups, salads and appetizers are available, including Fried Pickle Chips, a portion of battered and fried sliced pickles served alongside a garlic aioli. The restaurant offers several types of sandwiches and entrees, including a Meatloaf Sandwich topped with Swiss cheese and onion crisps, a Chicken Cordon Blue sandwich, classic Shepherd's Pie and Fish and Chips.

Saffron Café

In downtown Indianapolis, Saffron Café offers one of the city's only Moroccan restaurants. This restaurant offers an authentic North African dining experience with the décor, place settings, food and wine all inspired by Morocco.

Diners can make lunch reservations for Saffron Café for any time between 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Monday through Friday. Dinner is served from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, 4:30 to 10 on Friday, 4 to 10 on Saturday and 4 to 9 on Sunday. Several Mediterranean classics are available at Saffron Café, including hummus, falafel and a mozzarella plate with artichokes, olives and capers. The restaurant also offers Lam Kabbabs and a Kafta Kabbab, two common Moroccan dishes, Cumin Chicken Tajine, a Moroccan stew, and other entrees like Ahi Tuna served with cilantro pesto or a honey glazed leg of lamb.

On the north side of Indianapolis, Mama Carolla's Old Italian Restaurant has been offering quality Italian to area residents for years. Set in a model home from the 1920s, this restaurant has plenty of rustic elegance and Italian charm. Diners can enjoy the restaurant Tuesday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

This classic Italian restaurant offers several entrees for various meats, such as Veal Marsala with angel hair pasta, Roasted Rosemary Chicken including half of a roasted chicken served with roast vegetables and Uncle Dino's ribeye steak, served with peppercorns, capers and an au jus. Several pasta options are also available, including spaghetti, pasta primavera and fettuccine alfredo.
