Pottstown offers many gourmet restaurants.
Although settlers had farmed and produced iron in the area since 1714, iron-forger John Potts first incorporated Pottstown as a town in 1761. Today, Pottstown, with a population of about 21,800, lies in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, about a 45-minute drive from
Philadelphia. The town derives its small-town feel from a still burgeoning Main Street (called "High Street") and offers a number of cultural and educational attractions, including a symphony orchestra, a professional dance theater and gourmet restaurants.
Henry's Café & Fine Groceries
After overseeing the French cuisine prepared at the prestigious Restaurant Taquet in Wayne, Pennsylvania, Chef Frank Raski opened this small BYO (bring your own alcohol, beer or wine) restaurant. The cuisine at Henry's blends French, Mediterranean and California traditions, with an emphasis on fresh fish dishes and locally grown produce and fruit. Seafood choices include peppercorn-flavored sea scallops and garlic shrimp with homemade ravioli. If you're feeling a bit more ambitious, try the savory wild boar or lamb sausage. Pastry chefs prepare desserts from scratch on site, crafting a decadent chocolate hazelnut torte and a blueberry cobbler that complement after-dinner cappuccinos and espressos. Henry's only seats 40 people, so reservations are strongly recommended.

Cutillo's Restaurant
Cutillo's operates inside an 18th-century hotel that has served as a lodging, a discotheque and, now, a restaurant. Exposed beams straddle the ceilings to overshadow centuries-old fixtures that adorn the windows and doorways. American and Italian themes dominate the cuisine, which includes steak dishes, Crab Cakes Francaise and a seafood-laden appetizer menu. A climate-controlled creek-side patio lets patrons dine in a relaxing atmosphere; a lounge provides entertainment, happy-hour specials and live music on Fridays. Stop in on Sunday for brunch. Cutillo's is less than two miles outside of Pottstown's city limits.

Trattoria Vittorio
Trattoria Vittorio sits in a small strip mall just off Route 100, but don't let the location discourage you from dining there. Once inside, you'll enjoy fantastic service and food prepared in the Italian tradition. Homemade ravioli pokes out from under freshly prepared sauces, and gobs of pasta complement veal and chicken dishes. For dessert, dip your fork into the smooth Tiramisu or dunk the homemade cannoli into your cappuccino. Stop in on Friday or Saturday nights to hear classic and Italian folk songs crooned by a guitar player.
