Westminster is a thriving suburban community centrally located between the cities of
Denver and Boulder, Colorado. The city offers recreation centers and parks, historical sites, museums and, from the top of the bell tower at City Hall, a breathtaking view of the nearby Rocky Mountains. Other fun-filled available activities include hiking, golfing, ice skating and roller skating. A short twenty-minute drive to Denver or Boulder puts Westminster visitors close to a number major business centers as well as a variety of sports and entertainment venues. Many dining opportunities exist in the Westminster area, and some of the restaurants specialize in German cuisine.
Cafe Berlin
Located less than 10 miles from Westminster, Cafe Berlin was originally opened by a German-American restaurateur. The restaurant offers a wide variety of authentic German dishes to its guests for lunch and dinner. Appetizers include Wurstteller--a selection of German bratwurst served on a bed of sauerkraut, herring and spatzle--German-style egg noodles served with a shiitake mushroom cream sauce. Traditional German entrees include a wide variety of Schnitzel selections, Sauerbraten, Rouladen and Kassler Rippchen--pork chops served with a horseradish sauce--served with bread, soup or salad, and a choice of dishes such as potato dumplings, German-fried potatoes, spatzle or sauerkraut. An expansive list of German beers and wines are also available to complement your meal.

Helga's German Restaurant & Deli
Helga's German Restaurant & Deli, located 17 miles from Westminster in the town of Aurora, began as an intimate four-table restaurant and deli but the demand for its moderately priced, authentic German food created the need for expansion. The German family who owns this establishment provides a warm, casual atmosphere in which customers can enjoy genuine German-style fare. Appetizers include potato pancakes with applesauce, large soft pretzels and a bratwurst sampler. Entrees include "Traditional Rheinland Selections" like wiener schnitzel, Bauern steak, duck Ludwig and beef sauerbraten. Desserts are made "in-house," and include several types of cheesecake, Black Forest, raspberry and lemon tortes, as well as apple and cherry strudel. Helga's also offers a diverse selection of German beers and non-alcoholic drinks, and variety of dining specials Sunday through Thursday.

Westfalen Hof
Westfalen Hof offers fine German cuisine with spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains. Located in Golden, 18 miles from Westminster, this restaurant has a varied selection of German favorites such as homemade spatzle, assorted bratwurst platters, sauerbraten, jagerschnitzel and pfeffersteak. Westfalen Hof also offers a selection of other tasty European favorites like Hungarian goulash, Polish pierogi and Russian-style beef stroganoff. All entrees come with a cup of homemade soup or German-style house salad, and bread and butter, as well as a choice of appropriate side dishes. Diners can select from a number "Early Bird Specials" from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays. Traditional German desserts like apple strudel and Black Forest cake are also available to finish off your meal.
