The city of Annapolis is part of the "Baltimore-Washington" combined metropolitan area. Annapolis is located midway between Washington and the city of Baltimore, a convenient 30-minute drive each way. The region, with its network of small townships and cities, has rich German roots throughout its many areas. There are German restaurants nearby to Annapolis combining German cuisine with local Maryland seafood and continental fare. Old Stein Inn

The Old Stein Inn is a Bavarian family restaurant and pub located in Edgewater, just minutes away from Annapolis. The pub features German beer, wine and other German liquors as well as a selection of local wine. Entertainment includes an assortment of German entertainers such as "strolling accordion players." The Old Stein menu offers traditional German fare, but also offers contemporary blends of German cuisine with local Maryland fare. A full menu of appetizers, soups and salads, entrees, side dishes and desserts are available. Dumplings, potato pancakes and German pastries are but a few of the samplings of German fare on the menu. Eichenkranz Restaurant

Eichenkranz is a historical establishment in the city of Baltimore, first opening its doors in 1939 as a private club. Since then, after the club disbanded, the establishment on Fagley Street opened its doors to the public. It serves the community with a restaurant and bar on the main floor, and a catering hall with dance floor on the second floor. Eichenkranz is open for both lunch and dinner serving traditional German house specialties along with a continental menu. House specialties include such dishes as rouladen, bratwurst and marinated rabbit. Continental fare includes local seafood and steaks. Apple strudel and German black forest cake is available on the dessert menu.

Blob's Park

Blob's Park is an entertainment venue nearby to Annapolis featuring German and local food, an assortment of Bavarian beer and dancing on the weekends in Jessup, Maryland. Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday the Bavarian beer gardens feature new musical and dance entertainment. The venue specializes in polka dancing as well as German cuisine and beverages. A full-course menu consists of traditional German appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, vegetables and desserts. Additionally, both German and American sandwiches and burgers are available. Local dishes consist of Maryland-style crab cakes, beer battered rock fish and Maryland crab soup.
