Amistad National Recreation Area
Amistad National Recreation Area will appeal to kids who enjoy camping and outdoor activities, such as boating, fishing and hiking. The park features prehistoric Native American rock paintings, caves, fishing tournaments and migrating animals, such as thousands of monarch butterflies in the fall and water birds who spend the winters in the park. The park is open seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., year-round, except Thanksgiving, December 25 and January 1. Winters are mild and when the park is the most crowded.

Galveston Island

Barton Creek Resort & Spa
