Fun Things to Do in Greenville, Michigan
Greenville is a small city of just under 8,000 people, a suburb of the Grand Rapids area. Popular with winter visitors because of its many seasonal attractions, summer festivals and green open spaces are a reason to stop by here as well. All in all, Greenville lives up to its name when it comes to entertainment.
Tower Mountain
Tower Mountain is an outdoor recreation area that is especially popular in winter. It is used mainly for sledding and tubing, although skiers and snowboarders also make the most of the hills (three different lanes have been set up for both beginners and more experienced skiers). The Flat River Trail, popular with local hikers, also starts in this area. The trail can be accessed at several points through this 10-acre park.

Double R Ranch Resort & Golf
Visitors who are coming to Greenville for more than a day would do well in staying at the Double R Ranch, just outside the city. Not only does this place offer great accommodations and fine dining, but it also has a great golf course, a heated swimming pool and private access to a lake for tubing, canoeing and swimming. Special events are held here throughout the year, and those staying at the resort will have free access to karaoke competitions, fireworks shows and even hay rides. Guests can stay in private cabins, A-frame chalets or bunkhouses, making the experience as rustic or as comfortable as they wish.

Danish Festival
Every August, Greenville pays honor to its Danish roots (the town was founded by Danish immigrants) by holding one of the largest festivals of its type in the country. During the four days of the event, the town attracts over 80,000 people to the area. Contests, traditional dance and music, parades and hot air balloons races are to be found here then, and visitors can not only be present for the cookout competitions, but they can also enjoy the tasty results. The festival goes on well into the night, where fire and artificial lights take over the town.
