One of Texas' biggest cities, Dallas offers attractions and entertainment for every traveler. With three professional sports teams, a world-class symphony, fabulous shopping, beautiful weather and a growing arts district, you'll never be at a loss for something to do.
Shopping

Dallas offers many different options for the shopaholic. Galleria Dallas features high-end stores like Gucci and Louis Vuitton and you can spend some time on the ice-skating rink while you're there. If you prefer exclusive boutiques, visit Highland Park Village, which mixes upscale retailers like Chanel and Hermes with 1930s architecture. West Village, just north of downtown Dallas, offers a walkable neighborhood filled with shops and restaurants.

Sports

Love them or hate them, the Dallas Cowboys are called "America's Team" for a reason. Catch a home game during football season, or watch the Texas Rangers during baseball season. If you prefer basketball, give the Dallas Mavericks a try.

Dallas has a great collection of museums, many of which are located in the Dallas Arts District. You can buy a combination ticket to the Dallas Museum of Art and the Nasher Sculpture Center. Other art museums include the Museum of African-American Art and the Crow Collection of Asian Art. The Dallas Museum of Nature and Science is located in Fair Park, the site of the 1936 Texas Centennial Exposition. If you're traveling with kids, the Dallas Children's Museum offers hands-on exhibits for all ages. For a close-up view of the natural world, visit the Dallas Arboretum, the Zoo, and the Aquarium.

Activities

Six Flags Over Texas is located in nearby Arlington, featuring rides, live concerts and special events. If you hate waiting in line for rides, buy a Flash Pass, which allows you to reserve a ride time for the most popular rides. Dallas has over 21,000 acres of parks in the metropolitan area. Hike or ride a bike on a trail, go bird-watching, have a picnic or spend a lazy afternoon fishing. Take a tour of Southfork Ranch, home of the mansion featured in the TV show "Dallas."

Entertainment

Lakewood Theater, a restored 1930s Art Deco movie palace, hosts movies, plays, concerts and festivals. Catch some live music at the House of Blues, Barley House or the Gypsy Tea Room. If classical music is more your speed, the Dallas Symphony plays at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center.
