Eureka Springs is a small city of just over 2,000 inhabitants in northwest Arkansas. A highly popular tourist destination, the city is designed in classic Victorian style, complete with winding cobbled streets, cottages and crafts and antique stores. Eureka Springs offers tons of activities for visitors, no matter their taste and interests.
Eureka Springs & North Arkansas Railway

Established in 1981, this private non-profit company offers tourists a chance to ride one of the classic locomotives throughout Eureka Springs in a 2.5-mile round trip (which takes about an hour). There are five locomotives offering tours, including a 1906 wood-burner and a 1942 first-generation diesel switcher. Visitors can choose between a lunch or dinner trip, or take just the tour, which is offered throughout the day. While waiting for a ride (or upon return), tourists can enjoy the rolling stock, which includes static displays (wood cabooses, passenger coaches and speeder maintenance cars), outbuildings and railroad paraphernalia such as bells and carts.

Blue Springs Heritage Center

Blue Springs is a lot more than a garden. Aside from the well-manicured flowers and trees, visitors can enjoy trails, guided tours and hands-on programs. The three major gardens within the center are Medicine Wheel (featuring healing herbs used by Native Americans), Three Sisters (which showcases plant interaction and interdependence) and Woodland (a forest full of color and opportunities to hike and explore). The center also offers craft classes, features exhibits and demonstrations and organizes workshops. The most popular programs include a dowsing seminar and the annual Red Star Ancestors Memorial Gourd Dance.
