There is also the option to rent one of the rustic cabins at the campground. The cabins house up to 6 people per unit. There are traditional log cabins with a covered porch and full bath. Camping cabins are available which are more rustic and do not have a kitchenette. The A-frame cabins have a queen bed, a bath and a kitchen area. This is an affordable alternative for families who also want to enjoy the outdoors.

The Dixie Stampede is one of the more popular attractions in the Pigeon Forge area. Here, guests can take part in a real-life dinner adventure---and what an adventure it is. Dollywood is more than just another amusement park---it is themed with the Smoky Mountains and the heart of the South in mind. This 125-acre family adventure park is located in the lush landscape among the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. There are several roller coasters in the park, including "Thunderhead"---a wild wooden roller coaster that is sure to get the adrenaline pumping. There are kiddie rides, food kiosks and plenty of gospel and bluegrass music shows available at the park.

Bennett's Pit Bar-B-Que
For a down-home place to eat plenty of good Southern food, try the world famous Bennett's Pit Bar-B-Que. Bennett's not only has mouthwatering barbecue---they are famous for other foods as well. This restaurant has all types of barbecue from pork to beef to chicken and marinated brisket. Bennett's accommodates large groups and reunions and even has a takeout menu. Great Smoky Mountains National Park
The Great Smoky Mountains National Park should also be penciled in when visiting Pigeon Forge and surrounding areas. There are over 500,000 acres of Appalachian wilderness to see and explore through the park. Hiking and backpacking abound and there are plenty of trails for both the experienced hiker and the beginner. The park is also a great place to relax and picnic with family while taking in the picturesque landscape of the hazy mountains. Entrance to the park is free.
