Florida Vacation Guide

Florida is one of the most popular states when it comes to tourism---in fact, its industry is driven by tourism. The state is known for having lovely and warm weather, many exquisite beaches, and a lot of recreation and amusement park options. Whether you are traveling with friends, alone or with the family, there are a lot of terrific vacation choices in Florida.
Beaches

One of the main things that people travel to Florida for is the beaches. The states' beaches are ranked as some of the most beautiful and pleasant in the entire United States. People come to Florida to revel in the soft, white sand and shimmering waters of the Atlantic Ocean or the Gulf of Mexico. Some of the best beaches in the state include Fort de Soto, St. Augustine, Daytona, Clearwater, Panama City, Punta Gorda and Sanibel Island.

Theme Parks

For amusement park lovers, there perhaps is no better place on the planet than central Florida (particularly Orlando). Whether you like to experience movie sets, relax on kiddie rides or go on thrilling roller coasters, there is a lot to choose from in Florida. Some of the best known theme parks in Florida are Walt Disney World, Magic Kingdom Park, Universal Studios, SeaWorld and Busch Gardens (which blends an amusement park with a zoo).

Nature

Florida also is home to an abundance of exquisite natural scenery. The Florida Everglades is a wonderful place to view wildlife up close and experience the wilderness. The Florida Keys is a serene sanctuary of endless crystal blue ocean waters and solitude (and a particularly good area if you like snorkeling and scuba diving). The Gulf Islands (like Marco Island) is excellent for fishing and boating---and even learning about history (check out the Sanibel Historical Village and Museum).

Fishing

Fishing is one of the most popular recreational activities in Florida---and many people choose to spend their vacations in the state doing just that. There are a lot of places to fish in Florida, from canal banks, fishing fleets, piers and bridges. The state has over twelve thousand miles of rivers and streams, and over three million acres of lakes. There are also options for both off-shore fishing and coastal fishing as well. Florida is believed by many to be the world's fishing capital.
