Review of the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada

Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas
Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas
The Flamingo Hotel seems to be targeted toward guests not looking to spend a ton of money on their Las Vegas vacation. The rooms are cheap and the casino is packed with penny and two-cent slot machines. Different concerts and shows visit the hotel and guests have the option to purchase these tickets at discounted rates during their day. With three pools, two hot tubs, a fitness center and spa, there is plenty for guests to do while staying in the hotel. Nine different dining options offer a variety of food, from casual buffets to fine dining.
Wows and Woes

Wows: They have great deals and the rates are cheap. The Hamada of Japan sushi bar offers signature house rolls that are amazing.

Woes: It's a bit cheesy and the pool area is packed with drunk college students. The service isn't the best, especially in the casino.

Insider Tips

Some rooms in the Flamingo Hotel are outdated and smell like smoke or alcohol. If you check into the hotel and find your room is anything less than you expected, be sure to call and let the front desk know. Unless it is a peak time, the hotel is probably not booked to capacity and the staff is willing to move your room if it doesn't meet your standards.

Author's Most Memorable Moment

I visited the Flamingo Hotel after winning a "stay and play" contest with the hotel. After telling the receptionist about the contest and how I "never won anything" she made sure to hook me up with as much as she could. She gave me complimentary meal and drink tickets and helped me get on club guest lists. This was above and beyond what I won but really made the trip great.

Bottom Line

If you're looking for a bed to sleep in for a reasonable price, the Flamingo Hotel is an affordable option located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip.
