Climate

History

Virginia Beach has 18 different sites that are on the National Register of Historic Places. These include two lighthouses found at Cape Henry.

Mt. Trashmore

The site of one of the most famous parks in Virginia Beach, Mt. Trashmore is an enormous waste dump site that also happens to be the highest point in the city. It draws in tourists throughout the year.

Military

Virginia Beach has a high military presence, with a number of bases in the area. The United States Navy base NAS Oceana is the top employer in the area.
