Water Parks

Wild Island Family Adventure is a great place to keep your family busy while staying in Reno. With some of the wildest water slides around, as well as some smaller options for your smaller kids, this water park will please everyone from the youngest to your spouse. It also offers a small assortment of other attractions including a miniature golf course.

Circus

A staple to the family friendly environment of Reno is the the one ring circus at the Circus Circus Hotel and Casino. Like it's Las Vegas counterpart, this hotel offers an incredible circus show with clowns, acrobats and magicians. Just outside of the circus is also an area full of carnival games and a free walk through of the hall of carnival mirrors.

Zoos

The Sierra Safari Zoo is a popular attraction in Reno open from April till the end of October. With monkeys, lions, zebras and more, this attraction is a budget friendly addition to any family outing while you're visiting Nevada.

Thrill Rides

For your more adventurous teenager, there are also many opportunities to hop on thrill rides throughout the Reno area. The best place to experience this is the Ultimate Rush Park. This amusement park offers two major attractions for the brave at heart and strong of stomach. The first of these attractions is a 160 foot bungee tower drop. If that is not enough for your family, then try the 180 foot sky coaster. If thrills are not your thing, the park also offers miniature golf, a race track, and bumper cars.

Fleischmann Planetarium

Starting in Spring each year the Fleischmann Planetarium, produced by the Houston Museum of Natural Science, starts their new season of dome films. This state of the art full dome digital show offers more than just a look at the stars. This planetarium offers shows ranging from star gazing to full on rock and roll light shows. The offerings change periodically so you're always guaranteed to have a new exciting and entertaining show to see.
