An Embassy Suites Lake Tahoe Review
Located on Highway 50 in South Lake Tahoe, the Embassy Suites is just a short walk from the beautiful lake and fast-paced actions of the casino. The hotel practically lies on the California-Nevada border, which allows visitors to get the best of both worlds. It's also strategically located close to nearby shops, restaurants and even supermarkets, ensuring that all your travel needs will be met. Unless you plan to drive around the lake, the Embassy Suites' premier location means you will not need a rental car during your stay.
Features
Aside from its central location, the Embassy Suites has many more features that would make it attractive to an array of travelers, including businessmen, couples, families and groups of friends. The hotel has a restaurant with a large wine list as well as a lounge that can get quite rowdy at night. This shouldn't bother quiet travelers, however, as the lounge is located away from the guest rooms. You might pick up noise in the lobby, but it will not travel to the accommodations. Travelers may also want to walk around the hotel's gorgeous foyer, which is filled with rushing water and live plants, making for a calm, serene atmosphere.
Pros and Cons
Because the hotel is located on the California side of Tahoe, it lacks the hustle and bustle that can be found just a few steps away in Nevada. Many rooms may also lack views, as only the top floors will be able to offer views past the developments across the street, which blocks the lake views for many. Those who face the back of the hotel, however, should have unobstructed views of the mountains. On the plus side, the hotel has most of the amenities travelers could hope for. It features a gorgeous European-like theme inside, with plenty of restaurant choices, a gift shop, pool and outdoor deck.
Bottom Line
Those looking for a quieter stay in the wilderness will appreciate the Embassy Suites in Lake Tahoe. It's perfect for guests who want to experience all Lake Tahoe has to offer, without having to deal with the rustic nature of camping or the smoke and noise that fills the adjacent casinos. Additionally, as previously mentioned, its prime destination ensures that travelers being shuttled in from the nearby Reno Airport will not need to spend the extra money on a rental car, as nearly all of South Lake Tahoe's sites and sounds are located just steps from the Embassy Suites. Those looking for more excitement or a more authentic wilderness experience, however, will not appreciate the hotel's luxurious, tame nature.
