Things to Do in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey
Located in Cape May County, the borough of Wildwood Crest is famous in New Jersey because of its ideal location over the water and its pristine
beaches. While the official local population is just under 4,000, the area swells during the summer, when residents from surrounding counties (and even states) stop over to enjoy the sea breezes.
Wildwood Crest Historical Museum
A simple, three-room museum depicting the history of the community, the Wildwood Crest Historical Museum is also the depository for photographs showing the growth of the piers and the importance of the ocean in the development of the area. Visitors to the museum can also take part in some of the organized activities held throughout the year, such as fireworks, beach concerts and fairs.
Captain Sinn's Sightseeing Center
A private tour operation, Captain Sinn's has been around for decades and continues to be one of the main attractions in Wildwood Crest. Visitors can join one of the many organized tours that take to the water in search of dolphins and whales, or they can simply book a table and enjoy a leisurely ride along the coast while having a drink or enjoying a quiet dinner.
Morey's Piers
The most popular attraction in Wildwood Crest is probably the boardwalk and piers. Over three miles long, the boardwalk itself is home to five amusement parks, 1950s hotels, aqua parks and lots of shopping and eating opportunities. The three main parks, known as Surfside Pier, Mariner's Pier and Adventure Pier, offer a mix of traditional rides like tea cups and carousels, and thrill modern rides such as the SkyCoaster, raceways, climbing walls and AtmosFEAR, a 148-foot tall free-fall tower. Numerous events are also held at the Piers, including the annual Beach Blast Soccer Tournament and the Beach Jam Scout Event.
