Things to Do in Panama City Beach, Florida

Panama City beach, Florida, offers a welcome to visitors in the form of blinding white sand that will make you think you're walking through sugar and Gulf of Mexico waters so warm that on some years you can actually welcome in the New Year with a brisk swim. In addition to the beaches, Panama City also has dolphins to swim with, a water park second to none, and even a Ripley's museum--believe it or not.
The Beach

The beach at Panama City, Florida, is towered over by condos and hotels that offer some tourists a spectacular view of the beach that beckons them for swimming, sunbathing, snorkeling, scuba, skiing and Jet Skiing. If you really want to get a fantastic view of the beach, be sure to visit one of the many parasailing vendors and take a trip overhead.

Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum

The Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum in Panama City, Florida, is easily recognizable; it may be the most recognizable building in the city. When you've drive up to the sinking ship's bow rising high into the sky, you're there. Walk inside to get a look at things that will make you say you don't believe it even though you have to believe it. Then step inside the thrilling motion simulator ride that will have you actually believing you are coming through a mine shaft at dizzying speeds.

Swimming with Dolphins

Several vendors offer a chance for you to go swimming with dolphins, but if you want to add a little extra, be sure to take a ride on the Sea Dragon. The Sea Dragon Pirate Cruise looks like a pirate ship and even may draft you into action as a buccaneer. Swimming with dolphins has never been more fun than riding out to them in a big pirate ship.

Shipwreck Island Water Park

Sometimes even pirate ships run ashore. Make sure your pirate ship that gets grounded isn't the Sea Dragon but the one on Shipwreck Island. All the thrills and relaxation of water parks are waiting for you, and from the tallest slide you can even look out onto the Gulf of Mexico and maybe even see a dolphin coming up for air. The lazy river ride is perfect for a late Sunday afternoon, and the raging rapids is a great raft ride that will leave you soaked.
