All of New England is full of rustic and relaxed vacation spots. One of the best vacation spots is the city of North Conway, New Hampshire. This city is great for a day trip or, even better, for a nice cozy weekend away from home. There is plenty to do, and tax-free shopping adds even more to the potential for entertainment and souvenirs.
Camping
New Hampshire is known for its wilderness, and camping is a great thing to do in North Conway. There are multiple campgrounds catering to climbers, adventure-seekers and families. Many of the campgrounds are surrounded by the scenic White Mountains, and offer trails and multiple activities.
Amusement Parks
North Conway is home to two fantastic family amusement parks. The first is Storyland, a colorful and exciting place that features fairy tale creatures like Humpty Dumpty. There are plenty of rides and activities to keep the family busy all day. The second is Santa's Village, a year-round look into the life of Santa Claus and the North Pole. Children can greet Santa, take a spin on some rides and even see reindeer.
Shopping
New Hampshire is a sales-tax-free state, and visitors can reap the benefits of their discounted prices. The L.L Bean Factory outlets offer hundreds of bargains, and the Settlers' Green Outlet village features over 40 stores with excellent discounts. Little shops are also scattered throughout the state and offer great antique and discount shopping.
Science
Explore the world of science in North Conway at the Mount Washington Observatory Weather Discovery Center. Here, you can learn about weather and meteorology, and use the observation tower to view different weather patterns atop Mount Washington. It's great for a rainy day stop in the city.
Outdoors
Outdoor enthusiasts will love everything that North Conway has to offer. Among hundreds of trails surrounding the White Mountains, visitors can participate in mountain climbing lessons at the International Climbing School. Experienced climbers will enjoy the peaks at Cathedral Ledge.
Driving
Whether you are driving to a new destination or traveling around the city, be sure to take the Kancamagus Highway. Featuring seasonal surroundings and plenty of rest stops, you may end up using all of your camera's memory on this peaceful and gorgeous drive.
