Barefoot Landing
You'll find several inexpensive activities at Barefoot Landing. Getting lost in the Mirror Maze is a good way to spend an afternoon. After finding your way through the 2000 square feet of mirrors that make up the maze, you just might want to try The Vault laser beam challenge. You'll feel as if you're in a spy movie as you try to avoid breaking the laser beams as you move through the timed challenge. When you ride the Barnum and Bailey-style carousel at Barefoot Landing you'll get to choose one of 41 unique animals to ride. Barefoot Landing is open daily.

Alligator Adventure
Alligators aren't the only animals you'll find at Alligator Adventure. In addition to the 800 alligators on display, you might also see giant frogs, turtles, exotic birds and lizards. You'll find many of these animals along the pathways that lead through swamps and marshes. Alligator Adventure is also located in Barefoot Landing. Hours vary depending on the season.
Franklin G. Burroughs -- Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum
The Franklin G. Burroughs -- Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum features an eclectic mix of artwork along with special exhibits. The museum's gift shop offers handcrafted, lowcountry prints, pottery, paintings and textiles. The museum is open every day except Monday.

Heritage Shores Nature Preserve
Part of the Cherry Grove Marsh, the Heritage Shores Nature Preserve offers prime viewing of the marsh and native plants and animals from a series of boardwalks and observation decks. The preserve also includes a native soil interpretive trial and two picnic shelters. The preserve is open daily.

Warbird Park
Warbird Park serves as a monument to the men and women who served at the now defunct Myrtle Beach Air Force Base. You'll see several planes on display, including an F-100 Super Sabre, an A-10 Thunderbolt and an A-7 Corsair II. The park is located on Highway 17 and is open every day during daylight hours.
South Carolina Hall of Fame
Stop by the South Carolina Hall of Fame for a little dose of history during your Myrtle Beach vacation. Each year, two South Carolinians are inducted into the Hall of Fame and their portraits are displayed at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. Past inductees include President Andrew Jackson, jazz great Dizzy Gillespie, astronaut Charles M. Duke and General William C. Westmoreland. The Hall of Fame is open daily.
