All of the five boroughs of
New York City have fun things to do with kids. These are some of the best and the most popular, and all of them are open year round, rain, shine or snow. New York City is more than the Island of Manhattan, and if you do not explore the outer boroughs, you will miss some every special fun things to do with kids.
New York Aquarium
The New York Aquarium has activities like a sea lion show; sea otter feedings and play time; penguin, walrus and shark feedings; chats with an octopus and a 4-D show. There is an on-site restaurant, and you can have your hand stamped so that you can go out and come back in without an extra charge. You can take a walk on the boardwalk or go a few blocks and have lunch at the original Nathan's.

Central Park Zoo
The Central Park Zoo is easy to find. It is just off 5th Avenue near the Duck Pond and the Carousel. The main exhibits include the Central Garden & Sea Lion Pool, Polar Circle, Temperate Territory, Tisch Children's Zoo and Tropic Zone: The Rainforest. The Central Park Zoo is one of the smaller zoos in New York City, making it perfect for younger kids.

Hall of Science
The New York Hall of Science is a hands-on experience for kids of all ages with more than 400 exhibits covering biology, chemistry and physics. Special audio tours are available for the visually impaired. The Live Science Theater puts on productions such as Dr. Frankenstein's Lighting & Electricity. The Hall of Science has a special place for preschoolers where they can see a puppet show.

Playground for All Children
The Playground for All Children is a very special place. It was designed so that special-needs kids can play with their able-bodied friends. There are picnic tables, a basketball court and the usual swings, but the feature that sets it apart are the playschool bus and fire engine that all children can access and have a great time playing make-believe.
